It’s galling to find that the device I use every day for dozens of different tasks is actually worthless. And nobody warned me that I was making the worst mistake of my life! I’m so embarrassed …

HD Radio is digital radio, much like TV just went digital. The upside is that you can have three “stations” per frequency, each with better sound than old radio. So where you used to have one pretentious college station (we’ll call it LEO) now you have three, (LEO-1, LEO-2, and LEO-3) each with their own programming and pretentious DJ’s. Usually the three stations are different formats, so one would do classical, one would do jazz, and one would do that terrible indy rock that only gets played on college radio stations. the downside is that you have to buy a more expensive radio receiver, and that you have to deal with three times as many college radio stations. I guess non-college radio stations can use it as well, they just don’t in our market yet.
